Review: ThinkTank Photo StoryTeller 10

By Daniel Lezano. Posted

ThinkTank Photo has a reputation for producing fine quality products and the StoryTeller 10 is no exception. Despite being far more affordable (RRP £80) than is the normal for this premium brand, it retains the high quality we've become accustomed to.

It's a compact bag that is nonetheless spacious, able to hold a digital SLR or mirrorless camera and up to four lenses, as well as a 10in tablet and accessories.

Build quality

The StoryTeller 10 is made from high-grade materials and has a clean, stylish and modern look. It is very well designed, allowing fast access to the main compartment via a zipped lid, which flips outwards when opened, making it easier to reach inside for your kit. It's a small but deep bag (internal dimensions: 28x25x12.5cm; external dimensions: 30.5x26x16cm), so you'll be surprised how much you can fit inside.

Movable dividers allow you to customise the bag to hold your outfit, while a tablet neatly slips inside a pocket running along the inner rear of the bag. On the bag's front is a Velcroed flap that lifts to offer access to a well-sized front pocket that has both a zippered and elasticated pocket within for further accessories. A key clip and removable rain cover is also located here. On the rear is a slim, open pocket that can hold paperwork or similar.

Comfort

The shoulder strap has a nicely padded area that is rubberised to not slip off the shoulder, while a grab handle on the top allows you to carry the bag in the hand – just be sure it's zipped closed before lifting as it sits on the lid. The neat design and high-quality materials make using the bag a joy – should you plan on travelling light, it represents a great option for holding your kit.
